Doin' Great!!

So, blogging EVERY day is a little impossible for me.  I'm finding that every other day or every 2 days works out pretty good.  Life happens, especially when you have kids and a husband that need you.  I really like bloggin.  It kinda helps me clear my mind and relieve some stress.  It seems to be good for the soul.  :)
Well, I have great news!!  My father in law got me started on Dr. Oz and I love it!!  Every episode has some type of information in it that helps me to improve my weight loss strategies.  Yesterday was quite awesome!  Shaun T. was on there.  This was the first time I had ever heard of him.  He was telling us about his workout called "Insanity" and gave us tips on nutrition.  He said that if you do his workout everyday for 15 minutes a day then you are gauranteed to loss weight and get in shape.  He had Dr. Oz and some other people doing the workout on the show.  They made it look simple, so I figured I would try it.  Shaun T. makes it clear to go at your own pace and work up to going full force.  He wants you to do as much or as little as you can without stopping.  Dr. Oz has posted the entire 15 minute workout on his website.  I have saved this to my favorites and I tried it last night.  What a flippin' workout!  I haven't worked out that hard in a very long time.  I did it again this morning and it was great!  I can't say that it was fun, YET!  I'm sure the longer I do it, the easier it will get and the more fun I will have.  You should google Shaun T. and then try the work out.  I have my days on a calendar and when my 30 days are up and I have saw a dramatic change, then I'm going to buy his DVD's!  I would love for others to start this 30 day challenge with me!!  We can motivate each other.  It will so be worth 15 minutes a day!!  I'm going to try my best to do the work out twice a day.  I will defeat this work out!  lol.
Shaun T. also said that you should have the biggest percentage of your carb intake in the mornings for breakfast.  So this morning I had 2 whole wheat waffles with a tbsp of peanut butter and a little bit of syrup and a cup of milk with my added fiber.  For lunch I made a chicken quesadilla.  It was a whole wheat tortilla toasted in a frying pan with a spray of pam.  Then I filled it with 1 slice of reduced fat pepperjack cheese and 1 small can of chicken and a little bit of texas pete.  I was so good.  It was only 310 calories and it was a whole 33 grams of protein!  And I had just a little bit of ranch on the side for dipping.  ;)  I also had some reduced fat wheat thins between my meals for a snack.  I took my raspberry ketones this morning and I've also been drinking lots of water.  I am determined to lose 15-20 pounds!  I'm really excited about working out for the next 30 days!!  Shaun T. also recommended 2 servings of sweet potatoes a day.  Sweet potatoes are a powerhouse food that also fills you up. A 4-ounce serving of sweet potatoes will provide you with vitamins A, B and C, fiber, potassium and magnesium.  By the way, Shaun T. was over weight in college and that's why he developed this system.  He knows what we are going through.
Here are the percentages that he recommends every day at each meal.  I like to break them down a little more to work in 3 snakes a day to keep up your metabolism.............
Breakfast:  Carbs-40%, Fat-30%, Protein-30%
Lunch:  Carbs-25%, Fat-30%, Protein-45%
Dinner:  Carbs-15%, Fat-30%, Protein-55%
I did a little more research earlier today, on the Dr. Oz website.  :)  And I found a list of foods that help you burn belly fat.  Of course, all of these foods are to be eaten in moderation:
probiotic yogurt
strawberries
dark chocolate
natural peanut butter
guacamole
broccoli
sweet potatoes
red peppers and
vitamin C
olives were also listed to help lower cholesterol :)
And lay off the carbs, try to eat whole wheat breads and pastas.  Carbs turn into sugar and sugar turns to fat.  Just a reminder. :)
I really hope that all of this information helps all of you.  Try watching Dr. Oz or go to his website.  I have fell in love with that man.  Well, not him, just the information that he offers.  lol.  Well, I'll be back soon!  Message me on FB if you have any questions!  We can do this and we will be successful!  Hope y'all have a great day!! And remember............together we will make it a great one!

Love Always,

Kristi G.
